Mr. Frank Ashford Evans, 95, died Monday, May 30, 2022, at the Veteran’s Home in Oxford, MS. The funeral will be Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Rev. David Ard and Rev. Michael Daniels officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 12:30 P.M. until the time of service. Burial will follow in North Oxford Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Evans was born May 31, 1926, to the late Lynn and Jennie Evans. A World War II veteran, he served in the Air Force as an Airplane Maintenance Technician in the 43rd Fighter Squadron. Following his service in the military, Mr. Evans worked at The University of Mississippi as a heating and air conditioning technician at the physical plant, retiring 34 years ago today. Mr. Evans was a founding and devout member of North Oxford Baptist Church, attending since the church gathered in a tent at 3-Way. After his retirement, he greatly enjoyed working at Handy Andy until the age of 93. Mr. Evans was married to his beloved wife, Virginia, for 73 wonderful years. Together they raised a family and found great joy in life’s many blessings. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers; one sister; and a grandson, Cam Cooper.

Mr. Evans is survived by his wife, Virginia Evans of Oxford, MS; daughters, Lee Ann Cooper and her husband, Phil of Oxford, MS and Doris Hodge and her husband, Mack of Pontotoc, MS; an in-law, Buddy Ferrell of Oxford, MS; and a grandson, Kevin Cooper of Oxford, MS.
