Dennis Dean Sanders departed this life unexpectedly on Thursday, June 9, 2022. He was born on December 17, 1959, in Memphis. Twelve years ago, while homeless, Dennis met the love of his life, Lola Allen, his “Punkin”, whose personal Christian ministry including cooking meals once per week for the homeless. They became a couple, she got him in her church, the House of Faith Church, he got saved and was elected Deacon and became a stellar citizen and Christian. Dennis worked at Foam Craft, where he was a loved and loyal employee known as “Pops” to everyone. He loved football eating, watching movies, taking naps, dancing, singing, especially in church, and his family. His grandchildren and great grandchildren were very special to him.
A Service celebrating his life will be held at 4 PM Thursday, June 16, with visitation from 3:00 – 4:00 at the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Dr. Fred Mothershed leading the service and AJ Kennedy, Jamie Jones, and Anthony Bean speaking. Burial will be private.
Dennis is survived by his companion of 12 years, Lola Allen, his “Punkin”, a foster sister from Memphis, and Lola’s large family of children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who loved Dennis as their own as well as special friends, Fred and Belinda Mothershed.
