Christi Luann Parker

November 26, 1958 ~ June 13, 2022

Christi Luann Parker, 63, passed away on June 13, 2022 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus, MS, surrounded by her family after a long, hard battle with cancer. She was born in Starkville, MS to John Paul and Ella Faye Hamilton.

She was employed at Mississippi State University in the College of Veterinary Medicine, before retiring in 2020. In her spare time she enjoyed working in her flower beds, traveling with her family, and loving on her sweet dog, Darcy.
Christi was a loving and kind person who cared for her family and friends and was a devoted wife, mom and Nana. She was loved by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her son, Andy McClelland; her sister, Paula Benson; and brothers, Johnny and Chad Hamilton.

Christi is survived by her husband, Keith Parker; daughter, Jami Hubbard (Craig); grandchildren, Case and Ragan Hubbard; and brothers, Stevie Hamilton and Ricky Garner.

Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, June 15, 2022 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville, MS. The service is scheduled for Thursday, June 16, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Sturgis Baptist Church in Sturgis, MS. Dr. Russell Mord will conduct the service. Burial will be in Salem Methodist Church Cemetery in Chester, MS.

Pallbearers will be: Stevie Hamilton, Conner Hamilton, Shea Hamilton, Ryan Hamilton, Drew Arney, Chris Miller, Dewayne Parker, and Michael Parks.

  1. The last time Christy and I messaged one another we talked about my stopping by the next time I came through the area. I had not seen her since leaving Starkville many, many years ago. I had the pleasure of running into her around 1995 while my daughter and I were attending a Ray Boltz concert in Tupelo, MS. She had brought several youths from her church to the concert. How I wish I had made that time to stop by and see her. Learning of her death makes me more aware of how short time can be and how we need to take the time to spend with loved ones and friends.

    My heart goes out to her family and friends. My prayers to all.
