Mr. Francis Joseph “Pop” Rawson, 85, died Thursday, June 16, 2022, at his home in Oxford, MS. The funeral will be Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Rev. Fletcher Moorman officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 12:30 P.M. Burial will follow in Eastover Cemetery.

Mr. Rawson was born in Pasadena, CA to the late John Francis and Guadalupe Rosas Rawson. He served in the 327th Unit of the Air Force, before returning home to work as a cabinet finisher at his business, Rawson Custom Cabinets. A devout Christian, Mr. Rawson was a strong man who valued hard work. Most of all, he loved his children and his wife of 64 years, Georgia.

Mr. Rawson is survived by his wife, Georgia Evelyn Thweatt Rawson of Oxford, MS; his daughter, Theresa Jones and her husband, Patrick of Arlington, TN; his sons, Eugene Rawson and his wife, Tracy of Juneau, AK, Thomas Rawson and his wife, Leah of Franklin, NC, Aaron Rawson of Paris, MS, and Richard Rawson of Oxford, MS; a sister, Lucille Kostovny of Upland, CA; a brother, John Rawson of Banning, CA; as well as 17 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
