West Point, MS – Lorean Elizabeth Flippen, 87, passed away, on June 24, 2022 at Waverly Care Home in West Point. She was born August 16, 1934 in Artesia to the late Lorean Elizabeth Wright and Bill Foreman. Lorean was an LPN at Ivy Memorial Hospital for 20 years. She was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church and dedicated choir member. She married James Flippen, July 1, 1955 at Calvary Baptist Church in West Point. Lorean was a loving mother, grandmother and friend to all.
She loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and loved being a caretaker to a multitude of people. She enjoyed cooking. So much so that she acquired the name “The Bread Lady.” She was known to always cook more than she needed in order to share with others. Lorean was a member of the “Red Hat Society” and was the founder of The Care Ministry at Calvary Baptist Church. Wherever she went she always made everyone laugh and smile.

Funeral services will be Sunday, June 26, 2022, 2:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church with the Reverend Joe Wiggins officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery West Point, MS. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include her husband of 67 years James Flippen of West Point, two daughters; Beth Beckham Pitts of Columbus and Patti Flippen of West Point, one sister; Brenda Foreman and one brother; Arthur Foreman, three grandchildren; Steven Beckham (Heather), Leigh Williams (Neil), Jamie Campbell (Francis), six great grandchildren, her special friends Glenda Colbert and Dot Tribble and her bonus daughter; Rosa Gonzales.

Those preceding her in death were her parents, two sisters; Mary Acker and Linda Callahan, five brothers; Earl, Thomas, Charles, Luther and Danny Foreman, one grandson; Jonathan Beckham and two sons-in-law: Jim Beckham and Jim Pitts.

Pallbearers will be Rodney Johnson, Michael Patterson, Darryl Shows, Andy White, Randy Wooten, Billy Breutkritz.

Honorary Pallbearers will be her Caregivers at Waverly Care Home, Former Co-workers at Ivy Memorial Hospital, The T.E.L. Sunday School Class and Choir members of Calvary Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Charity of Choice.

Visitation will be One hour prior to service time at Calvary Baptist Church.
