He was a 1954 graduate of Farmington High School, upon graduation he entered into the U.S. Navy, actively serving for 5 years. Leck, an industrial engineer, spent his professional career at ITT. Leck played basketball at Farmington High School and enjoyed traveling far and wide with friends for a good basketball game. Anyone who encountered Leck knows that he never met a stranger, cultivating a vast group of friends whom he considered extended family. Lovingly known as PopPop by his grandchildren, he was an active member of First United Methodist Church and Challenger Sunday School Class.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Norma Hammett Counce; sons, Mike Counce (Carole) of Cordova, TN, Scott Counce (Katherine) of Black Mountain, NC, and Jason Counce (Michelle) of Cordova, TN; grandchildren, Mackenzie, Norah, Rip, Lila, and Lucy; sister, Sue Lynn (Billy); brother-in-law, Jerry Hammett (Pat); and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
