Listen to this obituary

Barbara Ann Voyles Strickland beloved wife of W.D. "Bill" Strickland, sister, aunt, great aunt, entered her heavenly home on Wednesday June 29,2022 after a short illness.

Visitation will be at Memorial Funeral Home in Corinth, Friday July, 1, 2022 from 1pm-3pm thereafter service will be at 3pm with Brother Bob Cossey officiating. Burial will be at Farmington Baptist Church Cemetery.

She was born to the late Ezra E. and Goldie Gray Voyles in Corinth, MS. On May 31,1968, she married W.D. "Bill" Strickland for 54 years. They worked side by side in the real estate business. She was the receptionist and bookkeeper for their business and played an integral part. She counseled and advised the sales staff and was highly respected in the local real estate industry. Her churchlife was paramount in her daily life. Barbara had a host of friends and enjoyed selecting cards of encouragement for people in need. She may not have been a biological mother, but she was a mother, grandmother, aunt, friend, sister or whatever you needed. Her nieces and nephews were always a big part of her life. She and Bill attended plays, graduations, weddings, ball games, church events or just listened when you needed someone to vent to. They continued to "Pick up the Slack" for whatever role and it was still continuing for the next generations of our children, as i witnessed less than a month ago with my own daughter. Aunt Barbara was absolutely beautiful when I walked out and saw her. I said, are you sure you are sick? She was dressed, make-up on, hair done and had traveled over an hour to just give some needed advice and allow Uncle Bill to assist. My point is she was always there for us and others serving God as a faithful servant.

She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, William "Bill" Strickland of Corinth/Glen; three sisters, Mary Lunsford of Parsons, TN, Lavonne Griffin of Houston, MS, and Susie Rainey (David) of Corinth, MS; nieces and nephews J(Carol) Lunsford of Parsons, TN, Lesley (Jason) Fortune of Parsons, TN, Shane (Mandy) Castile of Corinth, MS, Shana (Kerry) Cook of Corinth, MS, Michelle Hancock of Houston, MS, Jessica (Tyler) Pettit of Houston, MS, Erin (Jake) Baker of Corinth, MS, Angie Terry of Anniston, AL; and a host of great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parent; brothers, Ezra Voyles, Jr. and Guy Ray Voyles; and sister, Sally Voyles Castile.
