Ms. Mary Alice Walls Wilburn, 79, died Monday, August 22, 2022, at Oxford Health and Rehab. The funeral will be Thursday, August 25, 2022, at 3:00 P.M. in the chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Rev. Fish Robinson officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 1:00 P.M. Burial will follow in Pine Flat Cemetery.

Ms. Wilburn was born on January 12, 1943, to the late T.J. and Carline Walls. She enjoyed playing bingo and bowling, and while she did love the competition, she was always in it for the fun. A master of card games, Ms. Wilburn could spend hours playing rook or rummy with her close friends and family. She was an avid reader and always had word puzzle books at hand. When she wasn’t busy with these many hobbies, she would relax by watching her beloved Ole Miss Rebels or 49ers play football. At an early age, Ms. Wilburn suffered a stroke, but remained positive and kind throughout her transition to life in a nursing home. She found purpose in her new way of life, making friends, and continuing to keep her same loving spirit despite the circumstances. Most of all, Ms. Wilburn was an active mother and involved grandmother, always thinking of her children and grandchildren before herself, and never failing to provide them with unconditional love and support.

Ms. Wilburn is survived by her daughter, Beth Wilburn Shoffner and husband, Marvin of Abbeville, MS; son, Jay Wilburn and wife, Janet of Myrtle Beach, SC; brother, Andy Walls and his wife, Colista of Oxford, MS; grandchildren, Kayla Vaughn and her husband, Scott, and Emily Shoffner; and great-grandson, Bryson Vaughn.
