Mrs. Fogerty was born on December 13, 1934 to the late Jimmie and Clara Rogers. A native of Oxford, she relished in the simple way of life, growing all of her own vegetables and flowers. There wasn’t anything Mrs. Fogerty couldn’t grow if she set her mind to it, and she was a master at shelling peas and butterbeans. She was an avid deer hunter, spending as much time as she could in the woods during deer season. It was important to Mrs. Fogerty that her family never go without, committing much of her time to canning, freezing and storing the food she grew and hunted. Known for her kind-hearted spirit, she loved all animals, especially dogs, and the chickens and peacocks she raised. She was skilled at bottoming chairs, both for the Cedar Bucket Furniture Company and her own customers. When she wasn’t weaving furniture, you could find her with a knitting or crochet project in hand. Mrs. Fogerty expressed her love for her family and friends by crafting handmade quilts to gift to them. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Freddie G. Evans and her second husband, Ernest Fogerty.

Mrs. Fogerty is survived by her daughter, Pattie Byrd and her husband, Ronald of Oxford, MS; her sons, Flynn Fogerty of Oxford, MS and Ben Fogerty and his wife, Carmen of Oxford, MS; as well as 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
