Lanexa, Virginia – Janice Key Whitehorn, 77, died Friday, October 7, 2022 at Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center.  She was born on May 14, 1945 to Edgar and Jewel Key.  She was a previous member of the Hickory Flat community and a member of Cornersville Baptist Church.  She worked at Holsum Bread and Wal-Mart as a cashier.  She loved to talk to her family every day, to gather vegetables from the garden, to take countless pictures of family, and to make sure that everyone around her felt at home! 

Services will be on Friday, October 14, 2022 at Kesler Funeral Home in Booneville with visitation from noon – 2 pm followed by services at 2 pm.  Brother Jimmy Russell  and Brother Perry Reed will officiate.   Burial will be at Gaston Baptist Church Cemetery.

She is survived by her son, Raymond Moore (Gina) of Booneville; daughter, Teresa Belback (Stan) of Lanexa, VA; brother Ralph Key; sister Patsy Henderson (Terry); sister Jolene Perry; her grandchildren Michael Moore, Haley Patten, Amber Thomas, Corey Wood, Jennifer Lewellen, and Brandi Lewellen; 7 great grandchildren; and 2 great great granddaughters. 

She was predeceased by her husband Leland Whitehorn; her parents, Edgar and Jewel Key; her siblings, Will Key, Max Key, Lorene Lambert, Shelia Key, Helen Green, Shirley Barrett, and Ann English.  Her sweet smile will be missed dearly!
