Roy "Stanley" Stephens (68) passed away Saturday, October 15, 2022 at his home in Marietta. He was a member of New Site Baptist Church. He was a firefighter for 52 years and the Fire Chief of New Site Fire Department for 20 years. He retired from the Forestry Commission after 35 years. He was an EMT for many years. He enjoyed helping people and he was a man with a big heart.

Services are 4 pm Monday, October 17, 2022 at New Site Baptist Church with Bro. Elbert Ray Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in the New Site Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-4 pm Monday, October 17, 2022 at New Site Baptist Church.

Stanley is survived by his wife, Barbara Crowe Stephens of Marietta; his son Matt Stephens (Hannah) of Booneville; his brothers Mike Stephens (Sarah) of Marietta, and Tommy Stephens of Booneville; his sister, Kernith Vandevander; and his grandchildren, Zachery and Zoe Stephens.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Grover and Lela Stephens; his brothers, Randy, Danny, Kenneth and Jerry Stephens; and his sisters, Peggy Hoard and Yvonne Stephens.

Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
