Robert Wayne Bock passed away on October 21, 2022, at the age of 77. He was born in Jackson, Mississippi, and a lifelong resident of Starkville, MS. He was born to the late Robert Ray and Laura Belle Bock of Starkville. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Starkville, MS.
Mr. Bock is survived by Rebecca Williams Bock, his wife of almost 60 years, of Starkville, MS; three sons, Robert (Rob) Bock and his wife Nikki of Flowood, MS, Dennis Bock and his wife Shelley of Starkville, MS, and Stephen Bock of Starkville, MS; eight grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
Following his graduation from Starkville High School, Robert received a football scholarship and attended East Mississippi Community College. He served eight years in the Mississippi National Guard Dixie Division 114th Artillery at Fort Seal, OK, and Fort Polk, LA, and Camp Shelby, Hattiesburg, MS. He later served two terms as a member on the Board of the Oktibbeha County Board of Supervisors from 1976-84 and served on several Oktibbeha County Industrial Board Committees and the Starkville Exchange Club.
Robert enjoyed the outdoors and the farm. He raised beef cattle all his life. He bought, and sold, and rented property, and spent over forty years in his construction company using heavy equipment in which he leased, owned, and operated for motels and restaurants in the area.
Most of all, Robert enjoyed attending all competitive sports games when his grandchildren were participating.
A family graveside service was held on Sunday, October 23 at Memorial Garden Park officiated by the Reverend Clifton Curtis of the First Baptist Church.
