Mr. Delane Wayne Walls, age 71, died Friday evening, October 21, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his loved ones.  He was born September 17, 1951, being one of nine children born to the union of James Jefferson “JJ” Walls and Mary Etta Jaco Walls. Delane married Judy Miles on January 16, 1971 sharing fifty-one years together.  He worked hard to provide for his family, being self-employed, owning and operating the family furniture business as well as cattle farming which he greatly enjoyed.  He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing and spending time with the grandchildren. Delane was a member of First Baptist Church of Okolona.

A celebration of life service was held at 4 PM, Sunday, October 23, 2022 in the Okolona Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Rev. Dr. Randy Lewman officiating.  Burial followed at Oddfellows Cemetery in Okolona.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Christopher Scott Walls who died in May, 1975, and his sister Linda Hood.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Walls of Okolona; son, Brad Walls (Jennifer) of Tupelo; daughter, Camille Dallas (Michael) of Saltillo; three brothers, Robert Walls (Linda) and Earnest Walls, all of Okolona, and LaDale Walls of Pontotoc; four sisters, Ruby Jean Hood and Margaret Jean Fowler, both of Okolona, Sue Staten of Tupelo, and Julie Whitehead of Nettleton; eight grandchildren, Wade Walls, Maddie Grace Walls, Lilly Katheryn Walls, Tristan Dallas, A.K. Dallas, Jackson Walls, Maier Walls, and Greyson Dallas; special friends Tommy and Dottie Rogers; and several nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Sanctuary Hospice and Dr. Donald K. Smith and staff for the loving care of Delane during his illness.
