Nettleton-Ivan Stanley Jones was born on December 24, l963 in Tupelo, Ms. to Barbara Jean Jones-Singleton and Malachi Johnson. He departed this life on October 25, 2022 at NMMC in Tupelo. He was 58 years old. At an early age, Ivan (Known by some as Stanley) accepted Jesus into his life and united with the New Prospect M.B. Church in Nettleton. He was a l982 graduate of Nettleton High School where he lettered in three sports, football, basketball and track. He attended Itawamba Community College after high school. Stanley worked many years for the E. R. Carpenter Company.
A graveside service will be held at 2 PM Friday, November 4, 2022 at New Prospect Cemetery south of Nettleton with Rev. Leon Griffin officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 4 PM-6PM Thursday, November 3, 2022 at Holland Funeral Directors, 5281 Cliff Gookin Blvd, Tupelo with a prayer service being held at 5PM.
His memory will be forever cherished by his mother, Barbara Jean Jones-Singleton; his father, Malachi Johnson of Tacoma, Washington; brothers, Anthony (Alene) Jones and Marvin Singleton of Tupelo; Darren (Rosalyn) Singleton of Saltillo; George (Linda) Singleton of Wood River, Ill. Joseph Singleton, Jr. of Stone Mountain, Ga. and York Singleton of Atlanta, Ga. and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins and other near relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his step father, Joseph Singleton, Sr., a brother, Nathaniel and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
