Elizabeth Ann Ott Russell, 70, met her Lord and Savior after she was stricken with a sudden illness at her home in the Old Union Community on Wednesday, November 23.  Elizabeth, a quiet soul with a generous heart, was born in San Antonio, Texas on October 12, 1952, having just celebrated her 70th birthday.  Her parents were the late William Nelson “Doc” Ott and Octive Mae Nickens Ott.  She spent her growing up years in the Aberdeen area and graduated from Aberdeen High School.  She married George Terry Russell in Aberdeen on June 7, 1980.  To this union was born the apples of her eye, her two children, Mark and Laura.  The Russell’s lived their entire married life in the Plantersville area ultimately making their home in Old Union in 1990. She studied Nursing at Itawamba Community College receiving her AA in Registered Nursing.  Her kind and caring spirit endeared her to the patients she served over the years.  A master homemaker, she enjoyed most serving her Lord and taking care of her family. Her 6 granddaughters were “Grandmother’s”and “Mudgy’s” pride and joy. She and Terry were faithful participants in a Non-denominational congregation that met in homes of their followers over the years.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at 1 PM Saturday, November 26, 2022 from the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo. Private burial will follow in Lee Memorial Park. Elizabeth is survived by her husband of 42 ½ years, Terry of Old Union; his son, Mark Russell and wife Stephanie of Houston, TX. and her daughter, Laura Hill and husband, Brandon of New Orleans, LA.; 6 granddaughters, Sarah Mae Russell, Emma Kate Russell, Scarlett Hill, Kathleen Hill, Elizabeth Hill and Violet Hill; a sister, Carolyn Russell (Randy) of Denham Springs, LA. and two brothers, Dale Ott (Nannette) and Duane Ott (Candy) all of Aberdeen; her brothers in law, John Russell (Doris) of Oakhill Community in Pontotoc Co. and Steve Russell of Longview Community.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

The family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 262 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TX. 38105 or to LeBonheur  Hospital Foundation, P. O. Box 41817, Memphis, TN. 38174.
