Bobby Sweat

A Celebration of Life Service for Bobby Dan Sweat, 79, is set for 2:00 pm Sunday at Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Eddie McFalls and Bro. Charles Stephenson officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Methodist Church Cemetery. Family will receive friends Sunday from 12:00 to service time.

Bobby died November 23, 2022 at his residence. He was born May 29, 1943 in Alcorn Co. MS to the late Leonard and Ruby Sweat. He was of the Baptist faith. He worked for Alcorn Co. Supervisor, James Newcomb and later retired from James Newcomb trucking, having worked 30 years for both. He enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren, he enjoyed gardening, fishing and the outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Barbara Austin; step-son, Tommy Daryl Nelms; and great grandson, Maverick Gene Nelms.

He is survived by his wife, Jackie Mitchell Sweat; step-sons, Kevin Nelms and Shawn Nelms; brother, Harry Sweat; grandchildren, Kaleb Nelms, Kamron Nelms, Jenna Nelms and Daryl Nelms; nephew, Daniel Sweat; nieces, Heather Robinson, Vicky Austin and Tina Johnson; and a host of other family and friends.
