Mary Gilmore
Nettleton- Mary Helen Lewis Gilmore, passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2022 at the Gilmore Memorial Hospital in Nettleton. She was born on January 05, 1938 to Woodrow and Vera Lewis in Itawamba County. She married Domie “Pete” Gilmore on July 3rd, 1955. She lived most of her life in Tupelo, MS before moving to Nettleton in 2014. She was a retired factory worker. Her greatest joy in life was her family. Lovingly nicknamed “Hellfire” by her father. She was a force to be reckoned with. If she was here today, she would tell is all to pull our big girl drawers up.
Funeral services will he held at Waters Funeral Home on Thursday, December 01, 2022 at 3:00 p. m. with Bro. Toby Lansdell and Kim Merchant officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park.
Survivors include her daughter, Shelia White of Mooreville, Melissa Harlow (Jim) of Nettleton; brother, Tommy Lewis of Mooreville; (14) grandchildren; (17) great-grandchildren; (4) great-great-grandchildren; host of other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents, children, Barbara Merchant, Danny Gilmore and William Gilmore; grandchildren, Jamie Merchant, Joni Salinas, Jimbo Merchant, Bryan Merchant and GG Gilmore.
Pallbearers will be Matt Merchant, Tony “BJ” White Jr., Levi Harlow, Brad Merchant, Chris Merchant, Mary Harlow and Zack Merchant.
Honorary pallbearers will be Shone Pitts and Terry Lewis and her remaining grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Waters Funeral Home on Thursday from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.
