Betty Wimberley Lauderdale, 80, resident of the Jumpertown Community, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at the Memphis Trauma Hospital. She was a beautiful person inside out. Her greatest asset was that she was a great Mom, grandmother and great-grandmother to her children.
Betty married her husband, John E, on October 4, 1958. They remained married for 57 years until his passing in 2015. They remained married for 57 years. She and daddy left for Chicago the next morning. They remained there for almost 16 years.
Momma worked for Western Electric in Chicago. She made parts that fit on the inside of phones. After moving back to Mississippi she started to work at Kimberly Clark and retired from there in 2007.
She enjoyed doing crafts, sewing, crocheting and knitting. She loved all the holidays and kept a Christmas tree up all year. She would decorate it differently each month. Her most favorite holiday was Christmas. She would make sure her house was decked out.
She is survived by a daughter, Tricia (Mark) Lambert; a son, Terry (Becky) Lauderdale; five grandchildren, Heather (Clint) Cartwright, Ragen (Josh) Carson, Devin (Bailey) Lambert, Lindsay (Jacob) Reed and Hannah Lauderdale; five great-grandchildren, Ella and Emmy Cartwright, Rutherford and Elliot Lambert, and Wimberley Carson; two sisters, Margaret Coleman and Edith English; one brother, Bill Wimberley and a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved,
She is preceded in death by her parents E.J. and Annie B. Wimberley, and her husband John Lauderdale, and a brother James Carroll Wimberley.
Celebration of life will be at 5:30 P.M. on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at McMillan Funeral Home with Bro. Kerry Powell officiating. Burial will be in the Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday, December 3, 2022 from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. and until service time on Sunday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Brock English, Todd English, Mark English, Tim Mitchell, Jason White and Jody Hyde.
