Mrs. Ida Marie Calfee, 89, died Monday, December 26, 2022, at her home in Taylor, MS. The funeral will be Thursday, December 29, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Wolfe officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow the service in Old Union Cemetery.

Mrs. Calfee was born on February 17, 1933, to the late Si and Eula Mae Mooneyham. She was a retired seamstress at Kellwood Manufacturing. With a love for music, Mrs. Calfee filled her home with beloved songs from her favorite artists, such as Conway Twitty and Charlie Pride. In her free time, she enjoyed gathering with friends at the local bingo hall for an evening full of fun. Mrs. Calfee, like any good Southern woman, had a love for fishing and gardening, devoting many hours to the tending and storing of her vegetables. She was always generous with her harvest, making sure all of her children had stocked freezers and pantries. As the matriarch of her family, she was the one they all looked to for love and support, and Mrs. Calfee was always there to provide it. Family was at the center of everything she did and brought her greater joy that anything else in life. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Calfee was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harvey Quinton Calfee, their daughter, Bonnie Craig, and one great-grandchild, Sean Alexander Farmer.

Mrs. Calfee is survived by her daughter, Sandra Ann Calfee Abel of Oxford, MS; two sons, Harvey Lynn Calfee and his wife, Delorse of Oxford, MS and Pat Edward Calfee of Taylor, MS; as well as five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and two great-greatgrandchildren.
