Mr. Wayne Elwood Boyet, 85, died Monday, January 2, 2023, at his home in Oxford, MS. The funeral service will be held Thursday, January 5, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at Jamestown Baptist Church in Jamestown, LA with Rev. Stan Foster and Rev. Everett Geis, Sr. officiating. The graveside service will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Ringgold, LA. Visitation will be held prior to the service at the church beginning at 10:00 A.M.

Born in Ringgold, LA to the late James Elwood and Sedell Pate Boyet, Mr. Boyet was a former professor at the University of Mississippi in Oxford, MS and retired as a professor of Economics, Statistics and Finance from Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, LA. While living in Ringgold, LA, he was a member of the Mackey Lodge #122 and Jamestown Baptist Church in Jamestown, LA. After moving to Oxford, MS, he was a member at the O.D. Smith Lodge #33 and became a member of Yellow Leaf Baptist Church.

He is survived by his daughters, Kathy McCluskey and her husband, Scott, of Oxford, MS and Karen Tucker and her husband, Tommy, of Hueytown, AL; son, James Andrew Boyet and his wife, Katie, of Mt. Pleasant, SC; nine grandchildren, James McNeely, Jeffrey McNeely, Morgan McNeely, Mandy Hodgson, Courtney Barnes, E. J. Boyet, Gideon Boyet, Josiah Boyet and Olivia Fortenberry and seven great grandchildren.
