James “Jimmy” Birbiglia

Service to celebrate the life of James “Jimmy” Birbiglia, 77, were held Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Memorial Funeral Home with burial to follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until service time. Bro. Warren Jones will officiate the service.

Jimmy passed away on January 11, 2023 at his residence. He was born on September 26, 1945 in Rapid City, SD to the late Joseph and Mary Platt Birbiglia. He grew up in Massapequa Long Island, NY. After graduation from high school, he served in the U.S. Air Force as an aircraft mechanic. He worked as an aircraft mechanic for Pan American Airlines and Federal Express where he retired from in 2010. He was a member of St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church in Selmer, TN.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda Faulkner Birbiglia of Ramer; son, Matthew Birbiglia of Collierville; daughter, Paula Nyzio (Jim Cucinotta) of West Chester, PA; grandson, Jameson Cucinotta; sisters, Florence Cummins (Bill) of Hilton Head, SC and Patricia Suriani (Michael) of Ashland, NH; brother, Joseph Birbiglia (Patricia) of Shoreham Long Island, NY; brother-in-laws, Buddy Faulkner (Pam), David Faulkner (Laura) and Roger Faulkner (Tammy) all of Ramer; sister-in-laws, Debbie Butler (Raymond) of Ramer, Joyce Stewart (Marsh) of Walnut and Carolyn Huff of Memphis; and nieces and nephews, Suzanne Foppiano, Kelli Branson, Larrisa Roderick, Tricia Suriani, Michael Suriani, Michele Hall, Denise Dollard, Joe Birbiglia, Jonah Faulkner, Stacie Jones, Susan Cummings, Bridgette Butler, Melissa Murrell, Lori Kiestler and Kyle Faulkner.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his nephew, Jacob Faulkner.
