Frankie Tapp Newcomb

Celebration of Life service for Frankie Tapp Newcomb, 77, will be held on Monday at 12 noon at Wheeler Grove Baptist Church with burial in the Wheeler Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Kara Blackard and Bro. David George will officiate the services.

Frankie died January 14, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her children. She was born August 12, 1945 in Alcorn Co. to the late Willie and Acton Shields Tapp. She worked at ITT and Magnolia Hospital, but for most of her professional life was a hair stylist. She was a longtime member of Wheeler Grove Baptist Church where over the years, she participated in adult choir, volunteered at VBS and worked with teams on mission trips.

She is survived by her children, Connie Newcomb, Chris Hinds (Ricky) and Matt Newcomb; grandchildren, Hannah Newcomb, Cody Hinds (Shannon), Braden Hinds and Austin Newcomb; great-grandchild, Liam Hinds; brother, Roger Tapp (Connie); sister, Sherry George (Hayden); in-laws, Bill Newcomb (Pat), Ronnie Newcomb (Paula), Kathy Beckham (Jackie), Cindy Smart and David Newcomb (Pearlie); and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Newcomb; infant sister, Sue Tapp; brother, Bill Tapp (Maxine); and sister-in-law, Carol Newcomb.

Pallbearers are Cody Hinds, Austin Newcomb, Braden Hinds, Josh Beckham, Shane Newcomb, John Beckham and Daniel Tapp.

Honorary pallbearers are Ed Settle, Dwight Wilson, Roger Tapp and Wendell Nelson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Highway Harvesters c/o of Wheeler Grove Baptist Church 21 CR 519 Corinth, MS. 38834 or St. Jude Children’s Hospital at Stjude.org.
