Benny Ray Downs

Benny Ray Downs, 72, passed away Friday, February 3, 2023, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. He was born November 23, 1950, to C.R. and Marie Downs. Mr. Benny absolutely loved his granddog Butch. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on vehicles, and dealing with antique cars. The highlight of his life was spending time with his family. Mr. Benny was also a member at Little Creek Missionary Baptist Church where he served as Deacon.

A Celebration of Life will be at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, February 5, 2023, at McMillan Funeral Home with Bro. Jeremy Johnson, Bro. Ben Johnson, and Bro. David Haynes officiating. Burial will follow at East Prentiss Baptist Church Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Downs of 52 years; two sons, Benjie Downs (Lisa) and Denjie Downs; sister-in-law, Judy Downs; two grandsons, Noah and Zane; and a host of nieces and nephews

He is preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Jimmy Ray Downs.

Pallbearers will be Randy Hill, Earl Whellington, Bradley Downs, AC Nix, Tracy Nix, and Jackie Clark.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Saturday, February 4, 2023, at the funeral home.
