Frances Elois Thomas Jamison, age 92, passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2023 in Broken Arrow, OK. She was born May 2, 1930 at home, to Daisy Oliver Thomas and Joe Henry Thomas in Dossville, MS.

Frances finished high school as an excellent student and was the lead in her senior play. Frances was next to the youngest in her family and had three brothers and eight sisters. She is survived by her sister, Annette Pinkard, of Carthage, MS. She married Bobby Jamison, Sr. and they enjoyed over fifty years of marriage, before his death in June of 2001. They made their home in Jackson, MS before retiring to Pope, MS. Frances excelled as a stay-at-home mom and is known far and wide for her biscuits and delicious fried chicken and all other southern specialties. As her children got older, she worked as a Dietary supervisor for a hospital and two nursing homes in Jackson, MS.

Bobby and Frances moved to Pope, MS in 1992 to enjoy their retirement with their loving relatives in the Jamison and Rose family. Their days included fishing, drives in the beautiful countryside and many happy times around the table and campfire with family. They were active with the Pope Baptist Church.
On her birthday in May of 2016, she moved to Broken Arrow, OK to live in her own home, just three houses down from her daughter, Pamela Jamison Whitson. In 2019, her grandson, John Randall “Randy” Jamison moved to live with her. This allowed her great care and company in her own home.

Frances and Bobby had three children, Bobby Jamison, Jr. who died in 1997, Thomas Randall Jamison, who died in 2017 and Pamela Frances Jamison Whitson who lives in Broken Arrow, OK. Frances was the proud grandmother of six grandchildren, Robert Jamison who passed away in 2015, John Randall Jamison, Hope Whitson Brigham, Paige Whitson Davis, Eric Jamison and Scott Jamison. Her joy and namesake was her great grandson, Thomas Jamison.

The family will have a visitation from 12 to 2 PM Friday, March 17, 2023 at Browning Funeral Home, with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM, with Rev. Roger Stacy officiating. Burial will follow in Troy Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is honored to assist the family with the arrangements.
