Mr. Alvis Earl Hudson, 83, died Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – North Mississippi. The funeral will be Monday, April 3, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at Christian Rest Church in Etta, MS with Rev. Donnie Williams officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday, April 2, 2023, from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at Waller Funeral Home and again on Monday from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at the church. Burial will follow the service in Christian Rest Cemetery.

Mr. Hudson was born on April 17, 1939, to the late Harless Earl and Cora Rudell Hudson, in his childhood home in Thaxton, MS. He served his country in the United States Army. Mr. Hudson retired from the Mississippi Department of Transportation and was former president of the Mississippi Employees Association. He held a great passion for the outdoors, devoting many hours to hunting and fishing. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchild, who were his whole heart. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hudson was preceded in death by his twin daughters, Lisa Karen Hudson and Lynnley Hope Hudson; two sisters, Patsy Sprouse and Louise Hudson; and brother, Danny Hudson.

Mr. Hudson is survived by his daughter, Amy Hudson Moore and her husband, Ed of Oxford, MS; son, Brian Hudson and his wife, Amanda of Oxford, MS; sister, Arah Frances Sneed and her husband, Billy Ray of Thaxton, MS; brother, Bobby Hudson and his wife, Linda of Thaxton, MS; six grandchildren, Seth Moore, Evan Moore, Lynnley Moore, Landon Hudson, Kara Hudson, and Reagan Hudson; one great-grandchild, Mary Kendall Moore; and his special friend, Zane Davis of Oxford, MS.
