William Roger Davis – Saltillo
William Roger Davis, 79, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, April 09, 2023 at the NMMC Hospice Care Unit.
He was born on December 28, 1943 in Baldwyn, MS to the late Willie T. Davis and Sibyl Duncan Davis.
He had worked in the auto industry for many years. He was an avid collector of Matchbox and Hot Wheel cars. He enjoyed Nascar races and spent time following his favorite driver, Dale Earnhardt.
Lately his greatest joy was spending time with family, friends, and his best fur baby, Buddy.
Roger was a member of First Baptist Church Saltillo. He enjoyed studying God’s word and singing in the choir.
Visitation and funeral services will be at Waters Funeral Home on Saturday, April 15th.
Visitation will be from 10:00am until service time at noon. Services will be conducted by Brother Ronnie Hatfield with a private burial at Jericho Cemetery.
He is survived by his sisters, Jackie Bell (Ronnie) of Saltillo, MS and Pam Davis of Acworth, GA
His children, Greg Davis (Denise) of Rogers, AR, Susan Smith and Robin Barnett, of Belden, MS, and Amanda Abele (John) of Spring Hill, TN.
His grandchildren, Brooke New (Lee) of Hernando, Cayce Smith of Belden, Samantha Davis of Bentonville, AR, Taylor and Ethan Abele of Spring Hill, TN; and his great-granddaughter, Lilly Davis, of Rogers, AR.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie T. Davis and Sibyl Duncan Davis, two infant brothers, and an infant granddaughter, Molly Smith.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Bell, John Abele, Lee New, Johnny Smith, Jim Wigginton, and Conner Wigginton.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Tupelo Lee Humane Society, St. Jude, or a charity of your choice.
