Sylvia Joyce Rivers Thompson passed away on April 10, 2023 at the age of 90 at the Brooklyn Hall Personal Care Home in Mathiston, MS.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband, Bell Thompson, Jr.; her parents, Howard and Lillian Rivers; brothers, Reginald and Alver Rivers; sisters, Helen Beverly, Nell Minchew, Ruth Rainey, Shamer Jones, and Barbara McCrory.
She is survived by her brother, Kenneth Rivers; sister, Thalia Tuck; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, April 13, 2023 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville, MS, with the funeral service immediately following in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Center Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Maben, MS.
