Bobbie Nell Merritt

Bobbie Nell Tedford Merritt, age 89, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, April 10, 2023, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford. She was born on November 15, 1933 to Theo Nelson and Mary Uis Hanks Tedford. Bobbie was a 1951 graduate of Germantown High School. Bobbie was a homemaker and a member of the Homemaker’s Club. She was also a member of West Heights Baptist Church, the Dulcimer Club and Thursday Mexican Train Domino group. Bobbie enjoyed flowers, gardening and spending time with her family. She was a devout Christian and devoted Mother, Grandmother and Sister.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at 1:00 PM, at West Heights Cemetery, with Drake Merritt and Rev. Wayne Cobb officiating. Browning Funeral Home is honored to assist the family with her arrangements.

Survivors include her three daughters, Patricia Parks, Linda (Ricky) Carver and Christi (Michael) Huey; one sister, Diane (Wells) Russell; ten grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Benjamin Franklin Merritt; a daughter, Nancy Neagle; a son, Ben Merritt; three sisters, Jane Tackitt, Brenda Tate and Barbara Parker; and two brothers, Bill Tedford and Michael Tedford.

Pallbearers will be Chris Lackey, Stevie Lackey, Chad Carver, Dustin Carver, Wyatt Huey, Cole Huey, Morgan Huey and Drake Merritt.
