Billy Joe Barfield, 71, of Vardaman, departed from this life on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Baptist Memorial Hospital Desoto in Southaven, MS, after a brief illness.  He was born on April 26, 1951, in Steele, MO to the late parents of Reed Barfield and Lou Edna Nichols Barfield.

Billy Joe devoted his life being a maintenance technician for over 26 years.  He was a devoted member of Midway Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for over 28 years serving his church family.  He was a mason and a member of the Vardaman Masonic Lodge #527 since 1979. He was also an advisor for DeMolay Organ Association of Mississippi.

Billy Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Reed Barfield and Lou Edna Nichols Barfield; brothers: James Henry Barfield, William Barfield and Charlie Barfield.

Those left to honor his memory are his loving wife Jo Ann Edwards Barfield of Vardaman; daughter, Angel Lynn (Tommy) Greenhill of Amory; son Billy Joe (Brandy) Barfield, Jr. of Vardaman; grandchildren: Megan Lynn (Bradley) Aderholt of New Orleans, LA; Connor Greenhill of Tuscon, AZ; Austin Barfield of Vardaman; Jared Thomas Greenhill of Amory;  and Nick Barfield of Vardaman.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 30, 2023, at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Vardaman from 11:00A.M. until 1:30P.M. The funeral service honoring Billy Joe’s life will take place Thursday, March 30, 2023, at Midway Baptist Church at 2:00P.M. with Bro. Roger Reeder and Bro. Al Gaspard officiating. Burial will be in Midway Cemetery with Masonic honors. Sam Baker, Larry Baker, White Baker, Terry Massey, Randy Mann, Mike Harrell, Nick Barfield, and John Michael Harmon will serve as pallbearers. Bobby Inmon, Lynn Casey, Connor Greenhill, Austin Barfield, Jared Thomas Greenhill, Jimmy Hughes, Bradley Aderholt, Wayne Johnson, and Josh Wells will serve as honorary pallbearers.
