Bobby Joe Clouse, 78, of Mantachie passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2023, at NMMC-Gilmore Hospital in Amory after a brief illness. He was born August 26, 1944, to the late Bollie Clouse and Elvia Lou Brown Clouse. Bobby served in the Mississippi National Guard for fourteen years and was a member of the 198 th infantry. He also served as Itawamba County Circuit Clerk from 1976-1980. Bobby was a hard-working man who worked various other jobs over the years. He eventually retired from Tigrett Steel in May of 2017. He was a car enthusiast who proudly owned a Chevrolet Camaro and Corvette. Gardening and politicking were two of his favorite past-times. He grew the best home-grown tomatoes around. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. He never met a stranger and was always ready to lend a helping hand. Bobby was a born-again Christian who was a member of Mantachie First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Dianne Clouse; two sons, Craig Clouse (Michelle) and Scott Clouse (Shauna); four grandchildren, Mallory Clouse (Michael Wood), Jacob Clouse, Emilee Beth Clouse, and Sarah Clouse, all of Mantachie; one brother, Russell Clouse (Janie Gale) of Booneville; one sister, Janette Palmer (Robert) of Pratts; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bollie and Elvia Lou Clouse; his maternal and paternal grandparents; and several aunts and uncles.

A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 26 with Bro. James Young, Bro. Lloyd Minor, and Bro. David Long officiating. Burial will be in the Fawn Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 25 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and from 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 26. All services will be held at First Baptist Church in Mantachie. McNeece-Morris Funeral Home of Mantachie is in charge of the arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Jason Adams, Brett Freeman, James Farquhar, Brian Prochaska, John Prochaska, Kevin Riley, Ken Brown, and Butch Jackson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Taylor, James Warren, Terry Collier, Jimmy Tabler, Rusty Card, Paul Wayne Wesson, Dan Walton, Jerry Wilburn, and his first cousins.
