Linda Kathryn Ashby Taylor, 81, of Vardaman, MS, departed from this life on Tuesday, May 09, 2023, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. She was born on September 04, 1941, in Vardaman, MS, to the late Baylous Priest Ashby and Mattie Clytee Blissard Ashby.
Linda spent many seasons of life as a registered nurse at Houston Hospital until her retirement. In her spare time she could be found working in her garden or tending to her flowers. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her life mission was to take care of everyone else before herself. Although Linda has departed from our presence, she has gone to rest in a place free of sickness.
She leaves behind a loving family to continue walking down the path of life in her absence, daughter, Lisa Taylor Blue of Vardaman; son, Derreck (Brandie) Taylor of Big Creek; six grandchildren: Taylor Blue, Preston Blue, Baylous (Courtney) Blue, Dowden Taylor, Sawyer Taylor, and Talon Taylor; great-grandchildren: Ella James Blue and Emmett Lee Blue; two sisters: Rebecca Hardin of Vardaman; Carolyn Davis of Vardaman. Linda also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews.
Linda is preceded in death by her husband, Henry Lee Taylor; parents, Baylous Priest Ashby and Mattie Clytee Blissard Ashby.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 11, 2023, from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Vardaman. The service honoring Linda's life will take place on Friday, May 12, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Vardaman with Bro. Don Wilson and Bro. Al Gaspard officiating. Tim Beckett, Baylous Blue, Preston Blue, Charley Davis, Mike Jones, Dowden Taylor, and Justin Taylor will carry Linda to rest in Shiloh Cemetery. Dr. Gregory Debov, Garth Horn CFNP, Jeff Hamilton, Josh Hamilton, Dr. John Massey, and Dr. Todd Treadgill will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The Staff of Parker Memorial Funeral Home is honored to serve the Taylor family as they begin this new season of life. We ask that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers as they mourn the loss of their loved one.
