Granville Barnes
A Celebration of Life Service for George Granville Barnes, 84, is set for 2:00 pm Saturday at Memorial Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Henry Cemetery. Family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 to service time.
Granville died May 30, 2023 at his residence in Counce, TN. He was born April 1, 1939 in Counce to the late Robert Glenn Barnes, Sr. and Nevadah Barnes. He was retired electrician journeyman, having retired from Service Electric. He was a member of IBEW local 852 for over 59 years, having joined on December 5, 1954. He enjoyed traveling with his job, the outdoors and was an avid Tennessee fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Robert Glenn Barnes, Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Brenda Cooksey Barnes; daughters, Tammy Barnes, Jennifer Barnes (Ken Warren); grandchildren, Dustin Wilson, Jackson Davis (Dylan Weaver), Sarah Kate Vanderford; and host of other family and friends.
Honorary Pallbearers will be members of IBEW local 852.
