Lucille Bevill, 88, of Derma, MS, departed from this life on Monday, May 29, 2023, at Bruce Community Living Center in Bruce, MS. She was born on March 05, 1935, in Big Creek, MS to the late Cooper Ray Goodson and Winnie Sims Goodson.

Lucille spent many seasons of her life as a babysitter. When she didn't have her eyes watching after children she could be found gardening and working in her flower beds. She loved antiques and quilts. She was a member of New Gauley Baptist Church.

She leaves behind her daughter, Barbara (Keith) Spencer of Vardaman; two sons: David (Pam) Bevill of Calhoun City; Mark (Jamie) Bevill of Grenada; brother, Jerry Dale Goodson of Big Creek; two sisters: Mary Bell Hobgood of Hardy, MS; Jessie Faye Russell of Bolivar, TN; five grandchildren: Brad Spencer, Kim Laurin, Ginger Stewart, Amanda Blount, and Dylan Bevill. She also leaves behind 13 great-grandchildren.

Lucille is preceded in death by her husband, Archie Lee Bevill; parents Cooper Ray Goodson and Winnie Sims Goodson; sisters: Martha Rea James, Linda Nell Goodson, and Virginia Ann Fleming; brothers: Howard Ray Goodson, Earl Wayne Goodson, Edwin Allen Goodson, and James Cooper Goodson.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 01, 2023, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce, MS. The funeral service honoring Lucille's life will take place on Thursday, June 01, 2023, at 12:00 PM in the chapel of Parker Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Earl Alexander officiating. Brandon Blair, Dillon Blair, C.J. Foster, Joel Laurin, Brad Spencer, Hunter Spencer and Justin Spencer will carry Lucille to rest in Oak Springs Cemetery.
