Wilma Lee Dobbs Staten, age 90, passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at her grandson Bryan’s residence in Millington, TN. She was born November 19, 1932 to Julius and Sadie Pearl Baugh Dobbs. Wilma was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and a homemaker. She enjoyed roses, flower gardening, sewing and cooking for her family.
Services will be at 3 PM Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc, with Rev. Tommy Inmon officiating; burial will follow in Oak Forrest Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her three grandsons, David C. Staten (Mauri), Bryan Staten and Matt Staten (Dolly); two sisters, Hattie Mae Gould and Lola Faye Dobbs; and a daughter-in-law, Debra Staten nine great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elton Herbert Staten; one son, David Randell Staten; three brothers, Elbert Dobbs, John Wayne Dobbs and Julius Albert Dobbs.; and a sister, Edna Wasden.
Visitation will be from 1 PM to 3 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
