Mrs. Bettye Jane Vinson Grose, 67, died Monday, June 12, 2023, at her home in Oxford, MS. The funeral will be Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Randolph officiating. Burial will follow in Eastover Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 13, 2023, from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at Waller Funeral Home.

Bettye was born on May 3, 1956, in New Albany, MS to the late Quinton Francis and Mary Irene Vinson. She retired from Oxford Walmart where she worked as a stocker and was beloved by her fellow co-workers. Bettye was an avid gardener, finding great joy in days spent in the yard, whether she was pulling weeds or cutting fresh blooms. Known for her skills in the kitchen, she could prepare the most amazing meal you’d ever had and always had enough to share with whoever might walk through the door. The most important part of Bettye’s life were her grandchildren and the love she had for them. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Keith Dean Grose and sister, Mary Frances Lawson.

Bettye is survived by her husband, Clemie Dee Grose of Oxford, MS; daughters, Marilyn Jane Grose of Etta, MS, Stacey Melissa Garrido (Gustavo) of Oxford, MS, and Tabitha Rose Stewart (Corey) of Rexford, MT; sons, Gerald Dee Grose (Kelli) of Pinedale, MS, Christopher Wayne Grose of Oxford, MS, Jesse Lynn Grose (Loretta) of Oxford, MS, and Rusty Wayne Grose (Crystal) of Abbeville, MS; sister, Shirley Ann Antar (Walid) of Boston, MA; brother, Hubbard Howell Vinson (Ann); as well as 19 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
