Donnie Ray Hellums, age 69, passed away at New Albany Health and Rehab in New Albany, on Thursday, July 27, 2023. He was born March 8, 1954 to William Finley and Ann Elizabeth Sullivan Hellums. Donnie worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse before becoming disabled. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Services will be at 2:00 PM, Sunday, July 30, 2023 at Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc with Rev. Greg Herndon officiating; burial will follow in the Eddington Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is honored to assist the family with the arrangements.
Survivors include his sister, Mary Denham; two brothers, Johnny Hellums and Earnest Cooper; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Donnie was preceded in death by his parents; 3 sisters, Annette Hellums, Lois Melton and Ann Wieskmuski; and three brothers, Bob Hellums, James Hellums and Houston Hellums.
Visitation will be from 12 to 2 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
