Anthony Dane Hooker

Anthony Dane Hooker, age 73, passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at Baptist Memorial Hospital Desoto. He was born on December 10, 1949 to Preston Anderson Hooker and Juanice Russell Hooker. Anthony was a veteran of the Air Force and the National Guard. He was a locksmith and a passionate musician. His hobbies included fishing, and playing a variety of music.

Services will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc; burial will follow in Warren Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home is honored to assist the family with the arrangements.

Survivors include his mother, Juanice Russell Hooker; his daughter, Halle Taylor (Jonathan); his sister, Dawn Hooker McKenzie; and his three sons, David Hooker (Samantha), Nathan Hooker, and Jared Hooker; and 7 grandchildren, Preston Taylor, John Taylor, Brooke Woods, Miranda Ross, Drake Ross, Abigail Hooker, and Jared Hooker Jr.

Anthony was preceded in death by his father, Preston Anderson Hooker; his wife, Janice Hooker; and a brother-in-law, Paul McKenzie.

Pallbearers will be John Taylor, Preston Taylor, Jonathan Taylor, Nathan Hooker, Jared Hooker, and David Hooker.

Visitation will be from 12 to 2 PM at the funeral home.
