PONTOTOC- Willa Deen Jones, 91, of the Bankhead Community, passed away August 10, 2023 at The Meadows Rehabilitation Center in Fulton, MS. She was born on January 6, 1932 in Erick, OK to the late Joseph Harrison Brooks and Viola Estelle Shipman. Deen Jones was strong in her faith in God and was very involved in Longview Baptist Church. She was very proud of her family and loved spending time with each of them. She retired from Sears in 1995.
She is survived by her daughter Betty Patrick (Tom) of Pontotoc, MS and her sons Calvin Jones (Shirley) of Anniston, AL; James Jones (Becky) of Guntown, MS; Billy Ray Jones (Lavenda) of Chattaroy, WA; Gary Jones of Helena, AL. She is survived by her many grandchildren Leanne Mask, Kathy Waldo (Spencer), and Jonathan Wray all of Pontotoc; Amanda Milano (Dan) of Towson, MD; Kristopher Jones (Meaghan) of Alexandria, VA; Sarah Joint (Bryan) of Old Hickory, TN; Benjamin Jones of Tampa, FL; Brad Jones (Heather) of Chattaroy, WA; Candace Wood (Caleb) of Spokane, WA; Michael Jones of Helena, AL; Nathan Jones of Roswell, AL; John Jones (Shannon) of Montevallo, AL. In addition, she was blessed with 20 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her special family friend from Longview, Dudley Park.
Services will be at 2:00pm Sunday, August 13, 2023, at Longview Baptist Church with Bro. Jimmy Russell, Bro. Caleb Wood, and Bro. Terry Faulkner officiating. Burial will follow in the Longview Cemetery. Baldwin Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband Leroy Jones, a son Darrel Wayne, 2 sisters Ada Jane and Marlene Brooks, daughter-in-law Gina Jones, great great granddaughter Hope Spyres, and two special cousins, Buster and Earline Brooks.
Visitation will be from 5-8pm Saturday, August 12, 2023 at Baldwin Memorial Funeral Home and again 1pm until service time on Sunday, August 13, 2023 at Longview Baptist Church.
