Betty Ruth Jones, age 69, passed away at Baptist Memorial Hospital in New Albany, MS on Sunday, August 20, 2023. She was born on January 30, 1954 to J.C. and Ruby Jones. Betty was an avid bingo player and enjoyed visiting the casino, watching television and spending time with her family.
A memorial service will be held at a later time.
Survivors include her husband, Dale Jones of Ecru, MS; her mother, Ruby Coleman Jones of Ft. Worth, TX; a daughter, Sonia Rose of Corinth, MS; 2 sons, Lonnie Meredith and Jonathan Meredith, both of Corinth, MS; a sister, Shirley Jones of TX; five grandchildren, Nicole Harville, Shea Harville, Ashley Harville, Holley Dixon and Amber Baswell; and six great-grandchildren, Hailey Elrod, Kiley Harville, Lillian Harville, Addie Switcher, Brooklyn and Joshua Woodruff.
She was preceded in death by her father, J.C. Jones; her sister, Linda Scallion and a great-grandchild, A.J. Harville.
