Dalton Lansdale

Dalton Smith Lansdale, son of the late G.C. and Esma Lansdale of Ethel, MS or as he often referred to it as “God’s Country” passed away on August 20, 2023 at his home in Corinth, MS.

He was a 1962 graduate of MS State University. He was in the MS National Guard for many years, having been a part of the integration of Ole Miss. Dalton and his family moved to Corinth in 1977, where he worked in accounting for Vendo and later became self-employed as an accountant. He was a member of Little Flock Primitive Baptist Church, having been a deacon, church and cemetery treasurer.

He led a simple life but one of devout devotion. He loved God, his family, his church and his MSU Bulldogs.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Julianne Lansdale; two sons, Jeff Lansdale (Toni) of Jackson, TN and Jon Lansdale of Jackson, MS; brother, James “Jimmy” Lansdale of Ethel, MS; his granddaughters which were his pride and joy, Dr. Victoria Lansdale Graves (J.B.) and JuliaAnne “Bucky” Lansdale
(fiancé, Hugh Pinckley); finally his constant companion of the last several months, “George The Cat”.

A family and friends gathering for Dalton will be held Sunday, August 27, 2023 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Memorial Funeral Home. Family and Friends graveside service will be held Saturday, September 2, 2023 at McCool Cemetery in McCool, MS.

Memorials may be made be to the Little Flock Primitive Baptist Church, 78 County Road 215 Burnsville, MS 38833.
