Joan Helton
Baldwyn- Joan Carmichael Helton, 84 passed away on Friday September 8, 2023 at NMMC Tupelo.
She enjoyed days outside working in her flower beds, reading, traveling, spending time with family, she was a head start teacher in the Houston Community for several years, she was a member of Ozark Church of Christ and was retired from NMMC women’s hospital gift shop.
Services will be Monday September 11, 2023 at 2 pm at Waters Funeral Home with Bro. Carl Dunlap and Bro. Jerry Bishop officiating. Burial will be in the Kirkville Cemetery.
Survivors include daughter Debbie Williams (Michael) of Baldwyn, sister Ellen Cooper of Starkville, sister-in-law Willie Helton of Alpine, grand daughter Paige Turner, great grandson Kaleb Turner of Baldwyn and a host of other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by husband of 40 years Rayburn Helton, parents Carl and Cora Goode Carmichael, sisters Irene Wagner, Eva Mae Daniels, brothers Homer, Marvin, Eugene, D.C. and Gilbert Carmichael.
Pallbearers will be Roy Prather, Jimmy Helton, Jay Helton, Dusty Prather, Matt McCarthy and Kaleb Turner. Honorary Pallbearer is Mitchell Hood.
Visitation will be Monday September 11, 2023 from 12 noon until service time at Waters Funeral Home.
