Mr. James William “Jim” Moore, Jr., 65, died Friday, September 15, 2023, at his home in Oxford, Mississippi. There are no services planned at this time.

Jim was born on March 16, 1958, in Greenwood, MS, to the late Betty Sue Lawrence and James William Moore, Sr. He proudly served in the United States Air Force, holding a strong belief in service and devotion to his country. After his time in the military, he built his career as an electrician. Jim earned his private pilot’s license, finding great passion in aviation. It was something he longed to do more and missed dearly when he wasn’t able to fly. He enjoyed many beautiful afternoons on the golf course, always looking to perfect his game and spend quality time with friends. Going out and about to run errands and eat a nice meal brought him great joy, making a whole day out of even the smallest to-do list. James enjoyed trips to Hot Springs, AR, soaking in the mountain scenery, shops, and restaurants. He cared deeply for the many close friendships he held, always just a phone call away if you needed him. Most of all, he loved to put a smile on your face. If you ever crossed paths with Jim, he made sure he left you a little happier than he found you. Whether a simple joke or an elaborate story, his fun-loving personality made the world a little brighter.

Jim is survived by his brother, Ed Moore and his wife, Amy; his close friend, Sally Shellabarger Worsham; two nephews, Seth Moore and his wife, Whitnie, and Evan Moore; one niece, Lynnley Moore; and one great-niece, Mary Kendall Moore, all of Oxford, MS; as well as his beloved dog, Dixie and cat, Cessna.
