Matthew Gregory Howell (Matt), 31 of Starkville, MS passed away October 13, 2023. He was born May
30,1992.
Matt is survived his parents Dennis and Lara Howell, Kimberly and Scooter Lockhart, his fiancé Terah
Hays, sisters Carmen Howell, Chasity Traylor, Karlie Lockhart (Brody White), Kylie and J.P. Arnett,
paternal grandmother Grace Howell, nieces Rayn Naugle, Emmie White, Oaklee White, Reese Arnett,
nephews Hyland Traylor and Liam White. Matt is preceded in death by his grandparents Richard Howell,
John and Patsy Ballard.
Visitation will be at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville MS on Monday October 16, 5 – 7 pm and Tuesday
October 17, 1 – 2 pm. Matt’s funeral service will begin at 2 pm in the Welch funeral home chapel. Burial will be immediately following the service at Memorial Garden cemetery in Starkville MS with Brother Richard Bryan presiding.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Waller, Chase Hays, Chris Linley, Daniel Stewart, Tyler Doss, and Theo Avant.
Matt has been described as a wonderful young man and beloved friend with a heart filled with love.
He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
