Doris Pannell Hood
Branyan community – Doris Pannell Hood passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at her home. She enjoyed traveling with her family, singing and going to church, teaching and her daily Bible reading. She was a retired teacher and member of Jericho Baptist Church for over 50 years.
Funeral services will be held at Waters Funeral Home on Friday, December 01, 2023 at 11:00
a. m. with Bro. Jonathan Hood and Bro. Jimmy Russell officiating. Burial will be in Jericho Cemetery.
She is survived by two daughters, Robin Ellis of Branyan and Janene Thweatt (Randy) of Oxford; three sons, Tommy Hood (Terri) of Brices Crossroads, Richard Hood of Branyan and Mark Hood (Cheryl) of Branyan; three sisters, Sylvia Kelly of Ellistown, Mary Ann Wigington (Robert) of Ellistown and Elaine Hooker (Tommy) of Henderson, NC; two brothers, William Pannell (Nona) of Corinth and Billy Pannell (Pat) of Pontotoc; (13) grandchildren, Amber Elder (Michael), Adam Hood (Hannah), Matthew Hood (Laci), Stephanie Campbell (Josh), Stacy Boothe (Brett), Jonathan Hood (Molly), Laken Richardson (Tyler), Trevor Hood (Makel), Mallery Holliday (Matt), Logen Ellis, Micah Ellis, Zachary Thweatt (Jordan) and Joshua Thweatt (Savannah); (14) great-grandchildren; host of other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, W.D. and Lula Reed Pannell; husband, Claude Hood; son, Steven Hood and sister, Lula McCord.
Pallbearers will be Adam Hood, Jonathan Hood, Trevor Hood, Zachary Thweatt, Joshua Thweatt and Micah Ellis.
Visitation will be at Waters Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p. m.
