Dovie Aleene Kelley, 91, of Banner, MS, departed from this life on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at Landmark Health and Rehab of Desoto. She was born on February 02, 1932, in Calhoun County to the late Charlie Harrison and Tishie Lou Strickland Harrison.

Aleene worked at Kellwood Company and Glenn Slacks. She was a member of Banner Baptist Church and was very active. Aleene taught pre school and the adult women Sunday School Class. Aleene was also the financial recorder and minute recorder. She loved to bake and cook for her family. In her spare time, she could be found gardening.

She leaves behind two daughters: Lenora (Jimmy) Bryant of Southaven; Anita (Scott) Despain of Jonesboro, AR; son, Bro. Danny (Shelia) Kelley of Banner; grandchildren: Paul (Alex) Snellings, Leslie Snellings, Christina (Justin) Turner, Jason (Sarai) Snellings, Jimmy (Chassie) Despain, Jason (Maggie) Despain, Kelley (Andrew) Windsor, Camille Bryant, Kristen (Austin) Merritt, Michelle Pulliam, David (Angie) Kelley, Lisa (Steven) Nix; great-grandchildren: Yasmine Bean, Phalenia Bean, Logan Snellings, William Snellings, Quinn Snellings, Charlotte Mobley, Maddax Turner, Dalilah Snellings, Ivan Meza, Lillian Despain, Gracie Bean, Braelin Hall, Madison (Josh) Wilson, Nora Windsor, and Xander Windsor.

Aleene is preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Harrison and Tishie Lou Strickland Harrison; spouse, Wister Owen Kelley; three brothers: Milford Harrison, William Earl Harrison, and Leroy Harrison; twin granddaughters: Amanda and Bridgett Kelley.

The family will receive friends on Friday, December 01, 2023, from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM at Parker Memorial Funeral Home of Bruce. The graveside service honoring Aleene's life will take place on Friday, December 01, 2023, in Bruce Cemetery at 1:00 PM with Rev. Robert Earl Alexander officiating.
