Marion Nell Rice Meade of Starkville, MS passed away December 6, 2023. Marion was born in rural Tallahatchie county to D. L. and Nannie Burnett Rice. She attended Mississippi University for Women and received her B. S. degree from the University of Florida.
Marion was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. She was dedicated to her life’s work of creating and maintaining a God centered loving home for her family. Through her many years, she was actively involved in gardening, DAR, World Bible School, and teaching Bible class to both ladies and children. In her later years, she was involved in a program that taught many international students English by using the Bible as the text.
Marion was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, James Horace Meade, Jr. and her seven cherished siblings. She is survived by her children, Tabb Meade (Tena), Nan Morrow (Chris), Thomas Meade (Linda), grandchildren, Anna Fregosi (Danny), Nathan Meade, John Marshall Morrow (Claire), David Morrow, Marion Steckler (Steven), Rachel Meade, Elise Meade, Lucas Meade, and six great-grandchildren.
A private family service will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to World Bible School, 16110 Anderson Mill Rd., Cedar Park, TX 78613.
