Carlos Lowell Reynolds, 90, of the Shiloh Community in Mantachie, MS passed from this life on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at the North MS Medical Center, Tupelo, MS.  He was born on May 14, 1933 to Lorette Reynolds and lived in Mantachie, MS all of his life.  He was a member of the Mantachie High School graduating Class of 1953, where he played basketball.  He also attended one year at Itawamba Junior College, where he also played basketball, before enlisting in the United States Army as a Specialist Third Class, Military Police serving in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He went to work with Tombigbee Electric Power Association and retired after 38 years of service. He was married to the love of his life, Johnnie Mae Williams, for 35 years before the Lord called her home in 1997.  From this blessed union two children were born, Cindy Reynolds, Mantachie, MS and Chris Reynolds, Vaiden, MS. He was a long-time member of the Union Grove Family Worship Center where he served in many leadership roles. One very special role to him was his 19-year tenure as Sunday School Superintendent.

Services honoring his life will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 27, at the Union Grove Family Worship Center in Mooreville. Burial will be in the Union Grove Cemetery. McNeece-Morris Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Carlos is survived by his two children, 3 granddaughters: Tera Johnson (Anthony), Logan Abel and Lindy Abel, 3 great granddaughters: Lexie Rayburn, Baylee Rayburn and Macie Johnson. He was also a 3rd daddy to Derenda Abel (Rob). Other survivors include a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other adopted family members and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his mom, his beloved wife, two sisters, Joann Painter and Louise Reynolds and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, January 26, from 5:00-8:00 p.m., and on Saturday from noon until service time at the Union Grove Family Worship Center.

The family asks that you wear your favorite team jersey or t-shirt ball team uniform, etc., to honor Carlos’s love for sports.

In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to a summer church youth camp or program or a little league ball team of your choice in his name.
