Brenda Bishop McCord
Baldwyn-Brenda Bishop McCord, age 71, died Saturday January 27, 2024 at her home after a brief illness. She graduated Baldwyn High School in 1970, Northeast MS Community College in 1972 with an associates of arts degree and MS State University 1974 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education. She was a school teacher for 29 yrs and a Wal-Mart employee for over 14 yrs. Brenda was a member of the East MT Zion Baptist church where she was very involved with the Young at Heart senior adult group at church. She enjoyed cooking, making Christmas candy and fishing.
Services will be Monday at 2 pm at Waters Funeral Home with Bro. Acy Barber officiating. Burial will be in the Lebanon Cemetery.
Survivors include a son, Allen McCord, 2 step-sons, Rocky McCord and Lee McCord, 2 sisters, Billie Jennings of Baldwyn and Peggy Williams & Billy of Baldwyn, a sister-in-law, Cindy Tutor of Pontotoc, a brother, Flavis Bishop & Kathy of Garden Dale, AL, 3 step-grandchildren and 1 step-great grandchild.
Brenda was preceded in death by her husband Billy McCord and her parents Flavis Allen & Helen Rowland Bishop.
Her Nephews will serve as her pall bearers.
Visitation will be from noon until service time Monday.
