On Friday, February 9, 2024, Malone Gillespie (Bobcat) passed
away at Diversicare of Tupelo. He was a beloved father, brother,
and uncle. Malone, born on October 19, 1946, in Starkville, MS, to
the late Albert & Gussie Malone Gillespie. Bobcat had a deep
love for God and regularly attended church with Ms. Linda.
Known as Bobcat, he embraced life and all its joys. Bobcat
enjoyed riding his bike, washing cars, and never hesitated to
help others. He had a wide circle of family and friends who
cherished him dearly. Malone is survived by his daughter Sara
Moye of Starkville, Mississippi, two grandsons, Bobby Brown of
Dallas, TX, Marshall Overstreet of Starkville, Mississippi, and two
great-grandchildren, Zykeriah Brown & Elieyus Brown. He is
also survived by his brother James Gillespie ( Ondria) of Flint,
Michigan, sister-in-law Jannie Outlaw, aunts Nancy Norris &
Maggie Peters of Starkville, Mississippi, numerous nieces,
nephews, cousins, and friends. Additionally, he leaves behind a
special friend & caregiver, Linda Edwards, her children, and

grandchildren whom he loved dearly.

Malone was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and
Gussie Malone Gillespie. One sister Rosie Mae Dancer, two

brothers Jodie Outlaw and Albert Gillespie.
Malone will be truly missed, but never forgotten.
