Blue Springs- Betty Dale Bailey Greer, 87, was born in Lee County MS on May 20th, 1936, a cold day with snow on the ground, to Willie Ben and Mary Helen Parker Bailey. A 10 lb baby girl that would bring joy to everyone. She was the granddaughter of Robert Lee and Cayce Lee Doty Parker and Daniel and Sallie Cummings Bailey, all of the Euclatubba Community. Betty was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great- grandmother. She worked for many years alongside her husband making furniture, selling furniture, and cattle farming. Betty enjoyed working in her yard, tending to her flowers, cooking and spending time with her family.

Betty was a Christian and a steadfast servant for her Lord and her church, serving for many years with the youth group and in many other areas at Zion Hill Baptist Church. She has lived her last few years demonstrating her commitment to her vows, “In sickness and in health, till death do us part,” caring for her husband, even-through her own illnesses, until she was called Home.

Funeral services will be held at Zion Hill Baptist Church on Thursday, March 28, 2024 @ 1:00 p. m. with Bro. Larry Dunlap and Bro. Wayne Frederick officiating. Burial will be in Zion Hill Cemetery.

Betty is survived by her husband of 71 years, Hoyt Greer, grandsons; Shohn (Kelli) Greer and Kirk (Kristy) Greer, daughter-in-law Ruth Greer, great-granddaughters; Savannah and Izabella Greer, Sisters; Edie Butler, Ann Bailey, and Sarah Little, and special nieces Dana (Shannon) Sistrunk, Ellye and Sara Layne Sistrunk.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her son H.B. Greer.

Pallbearers will be Breland Randle, Roy Prather, Thomas Dye, Ben Johnson, Bob Hutcheson, Shannon Sistrunk, Parker Rakestraw and Ty Swindle.

Visitation will be held at Waters Funeral Home  on Wednesday evening from 5:00 – 8:00 p. m and Thursday from 11:00 a. m. until service time @ 1:00 p. m. at Zion Hill Baptist Church.
